Great Legends Of The Jazz Era

Come "Alive" On Stage

An Original Play By Ned McIntosh

The Dixie Echoes

An Intimate, Uplifting Evening Of Southern Gospel Music

Presented By SouthernGospelDelmarva.org

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008 at 8 pm

Join us for one magical evening as the lives and memorable music of legendary jazz icons, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong and composer/singer Hoagy Carmichael, come "alive" on our stage.  Presented with a live band, the play traces the birth of jazz from the turn of the century in the legal "entertainment houses" in New Orleans, Armstrongs home town, to Chicago when the "houses" were closed during World War I.  That's where "Stachmo" and "Hoagy" met and started collaborating.  Their songs, like "Old Rockin' Chair", "Georgia", "Stardust", "The Nearness of You", "Lazy River", "Hello Dolly", and "What a Wonderful World" became jazz classics.  Come hear them played, sung, and more!!!...in "Satchmo & Hoagy".   $20.00
